Murky Memories: My parents remember where they were when they learned John Kennedy was shot. I remember where I was when I learned of Jim Henson’s death.

I was on the island of Martha’s Vineyard, listening to the radio on my walkman while walking through main street of Oak Bluffs.

Although I was only 19 at the time, I had a strong admiration of Mr. Henson’s work , and I had visions of following in his footsteps one day. While my life went a different route, I still have an affinity for the pre-Disney-influenced muppets and a tremendous respect for Mr. Henson’s talent.
